Memory Walk
On the MOVE to end Alzheimer’s
Disease in the Mid-Ohio Valley

Alzheimer’s disease affects 50,000 individuals in West Virginia and parts of eastern Ohio. The disease that takes the mind from the body of 50,000 individuals in West Virginia and eastern Ohio affects not only the individual, but it also affects their families, friends and loved ones.

The Alzheimer’s Association provides hope for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter, will host the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk at Tomlinson Park in Williamstown beginning at 11 a.m.

The Alzheimer Association invites the Mid-Ohio Valley community to join in the effort to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s disease at the Memory Walk. The morning includes food and fun for all who participate.

Form a team, be a sponsor, come and walk. Start today by asking neighbors, friends, co-workers and families to sponsor you by making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. All walkers raising $75 or more will receive an official 2008 Memory Walk T-Shirt.

Every year, Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk’s are the nation’s largest event to raise funds for Alzheimer support, care and research. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $230 million for the cause of Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the only organization that offers support, education and advocacy on behalf of those affected by Alzheimer’s. The association provides many services, including a 24-hour helpline, care consultations, family support groups, lending library, Safe Return Program, caregiver education and training for health care professionals, in addition to advocacy on behalf of Alzheimer families and support for the research on Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s affects more than 5.1 million Americans. It is a progressive, degenerative brain disease affecting both men and women.
